We would like to share the latest update on our school's performance. The Arizona Department of Education recently released the 2025–2026 A–F School Letter Grades, which reflect student achievement, academic growth, English Language Development, school readiness, and other indicators of student success.
We are excited to announce that Winters Well School earned 82.57 points to earn a high “B” rating! We are particularly proud of our progress in our AZELLA passing rate increase for EL students, our exemplary growth in 4th grade math and reading, and of our earning the maximum number of "growth" points for the fourth year in a row.
We have identified the following areas for improvement and action steps to support continued success.
Growth and Proficiency Goals:
"5% of students in initial "minimally proficient" category will move into higher proficiency categories, 5% of students in initial "partially proficient" category will move into higher proficiency categories, and 5% of initially "proficient" students will move into the "highly proficient" categories by the end of the year standardized assessments (AASA and district benchmarks) in mathematics and in reading in all grade levels."
Action Steps:
Deliver segmented instruction.
Actively engage students.
Ensure state standards are taught at the appropriate level of rigor by utilizing Beyond Textbooks' unwrapped documents and lesson progressions.
Teachers will deliver targeted interventions to support SPED and EL subgroups.
Chronic Absenteeism Goal:
"We will reduce the percentage of students with chronic absenteeism in 2025 2026 by 15%."
Action Steps:
Teachers will target students with chronic absenteeism for systematic daily check in, documentation, and rewards.
Principal will celebrate students each month who achieve perfect attendance.
Classrooms will be celebrated for achievements in attendance.

Trunk or Treat Cancellation:
Good afternoon,
It is with deepest regret that with sudden and unpredicatable shifts in inclement weather along with reports from multiple areas in Tonopah of roads flooding that we will cancel tonight's planned Trunk or Treat event.
It was with good intentions that we watched weather reports all day to respond appropriately and we now feel the safest path for our staff, students and all community members will be to not hold the event as stormy weather hits across the west valley.
We appreciate all community stakeholders' investment in our school and our families and we look forward to an opportunity to celebrate as a community soon.

TRUNK OR TREAT UPDATE!
In an effort to avoid canceling our event while being attentive to incoming inclement weather, we are making some adjustments to our PTO Trunk or Treat.
The event time will move from 5:00–7:00 PM to 4:30–6:00 PM.
A few important notes regarding the event:
● All playgrounds and fields will be closed, and gates will not be opened for children to play outside.
● The gym doors next to the front office will be open for games and access to the art show beginning at 4:30. All game booths will be indoors.
● The Trunk or Treat vehicles will be set up in the east parking lot as our normal grounds have been impacted by today’s rains. This will reduce our visitor parking. Please plan on limited parking and parking along Buckeye Rd.
● Entry to the parking lot will be through our normal exit gate. Please be careful as this will serve as both entrance and exit for tonight’s event.
● Food trucks will be available in the bus roundabout outside the gym.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we make these adjustments to keep the event going despite the weather. Our goal is to still give the kids a fun evening and a chance to enjoy some Halloween festivities!
Thank you for your flexibility, and we can’t wait to see everyone!

Pajama Day is a student favorite during Spirit Week! It’s been a fun week leading up to tomorrow’s Character Day celebration.
If you were planning on sending any treats for your child’s class please remember we must still adhere to Arizona’s laws prohibiting ultra processed food distribution during the school day.
